WOnline: About the Site
WOnline is one of the premier basketball sites on the net and the only Washington Wizards fan site since July of 1998.
Reaching closer to our two-year anniversary, WOnline has come a long way since its initiation. WOnline began in 1998 as single page with a few links and one main article a week. Back then, it was know the Washington Wizards Report. But WOnline became larger, leading to our second site design using frames. We waited for the season to begin, but do to the lockout things would have to wait.
Once again, WOnline became larger and we had to adjust our site once more. Our new design was beautiful, winning almost 50 awards, including Tripod's Best of Pod (basketball). At this point, the site was called Wizards ONLINE, not WOnline. This design lasted one month into the lockout shortened season. A new site was needed to ensure faster downloads, more options, and easier navigation. A new site design was made but only lasted a month because we believed it wasn't appealling.
Now known is WOnline, we created a new spectacular design. But this time, along with a great design, WOnline moved forward and added informative Content. This was the previous site design, and our fourth major site design. This site was highly effective and WOnline finally had a solid fan base. WOnline used this site design for eight months. Once again, WOnline became larger and had to move a step further.
Besides the designs, WOnline has added many features useful to every visitor. WOnline has added a search engine, newsletter, audio recaps of games, the best collection of links to Wizard news, streaming fresh content, a live scoreboard, streaming standings, an always updated sports section, great graphics, Washington Mystics, the best picture gallery, an online store, wizards history, the entire wizards management, mascots, cheerleaders, and anything else we left out.
It's obvious that WOnline is bringing the best the web has to offer. As we move into the future WOnline has many great ideas, such our own domain, adding multimedia with macromedia, getting sponsors, our own columnists, our program called "Better B-Ball Sites," and whatever else the web brings us at internet speed.
